I was born in 1976 in Paris.
I began photographing and dark room processing at 13.
While I secretly dreamed of photography, I studied sciences for 10 years,
specialized in physics and numerical computation, which I also
taught for a few years.
I discovered numerical photography in 2004.
It offered me a new direction
for aesthetic exploration, while conserving analytical and pedagogical methods.
Exploiting the specific relation between the web and photography,
I built a web site around Parisian night life ; a representation
of an irrational world based on my rational methods.
I photograph as if I were making a film, then assemble the instants
that permit me to tell a story in a single fixed image. This creates a new world
halfway between reality and fantasy,
playing with time and
space to produce a fiction out of fragments of reality.
This procedure -a parallel to electronic musical composition using sampling-
has an exciting potential which led me to full-time photography.
My personal work has a surprising adaptability to commercial applications.
